Did You Know May is National Strawberry Month?

May is my favorite month for special reasons. Mother’s Day and my son was born on Mother’s Day. My favorite fruit ripens each and every spring, reminding us that it is the time to dig out our favorite fresh strawberry recipes. Also it is time to find new ways of preparing this bright red, luscious and well loved fruit.

Strawberry season upon us and I am again enthusiastic to eat fresh and sweet strawberries in the raw, in desserts, in salads, and in lemonade. This year I am going to go further and try them in main courses dishes. I have never been adventures like this before, but I have found some really interesting main course strawberry recipes that look mouthwatering.

May Recipes for National Strawberry Month

I have rounded up some of my families favorite strawberry recipes and found a few new fresh strawberry recipes from other bloggers that share my appetite with the delicious fresh strawberry.

Fresh Strawberry Tips:

  • Fresh strawberries are not only deliciously sweet and refreshing, but are also an excellent source of antioxidants, nutrients and vitamins.
  • Strawberries DO NOT continue ripen after they are picked!
  • Store fresh strawberries in the fridge and keep dry until you are ready to use them.
  • Use fresh strawberries within five days of purchase.
  •  If you are going to freeze, freeze fresh strawberries immediately to preserve peak taste.
